The  Mercedes 315 (4 cylinder) and 318 (6 cylinder) Sprinter Ambulance vehicles, are replacing older Mercedes 316 Sprinters and a few remaining GMC Sierra's as they reach their life limits.  New features of the updated Mercedes includes a new boxier look, improved LED strobing systems, yellow and orange reflectivity which has been adopted in line with international safety standards, and a total of 31 major improvements on the previous 316 model including cabin design, seating, steering wheel adjustments, automated steps, rear cabin modifications, six airbags, crumple zones and vehicle stability control. The Mercedes 318 Sprinter Ambulances are now the preferred vehicle and no further 315's are being purchased .
