| Beginning production in August 1940, the D19 Dodge was Dodges 1941 production model. It's new distinct feature was it's new two large horizontal-bar grilles separated by a vee-shaped panel and a chrome beltline molding running from the front of the bonnet to the rear of the vehicle. Other features included air foam seat cushions, dual electric window wipers, a right-hand side inside armrest, Delux steering wheel, and chrome beading around the outside of the windows. Other standard features included hump wheel rim safety wheels, vertical uplift door handles, oil bath air cleaner, a more powerful horsepower inline L-head six cylinder cast iron engine block, autolight ignition, hydraulic brakes, safety seal disc wheels, selective sliding 3 speed transmission, column shift controls, tubular front axle, floating rear axle, downdraft carburetor, air cleaner and a safety glass windshield. | |
