With the GMC Sierra no longer available on the Australian market, the Victorian Ambulance Service in the late 1990's began looking for alternatives. One option was the Mercedes 312 which was poorly accepted by staff due to it's poor performance. In 2002, the Alexandra Region purchased the a Ford F-350 instead of the following the move towards the Mercedes Sprinter. Using the Queensland Ambulance Serivce's rear module built by Superior, this vehicle instigated a Victorian move towards the Ford F-350 as an excellent replacement for the aging GMC Sierra. Below are photos of Alexandra's F-350. |
