With the GMCs no longer available on the Australian market, the Victorian Ambulance Service in the late 1990's began looking for alternatives. One option was the Mercedes 312 which was poorly accepted by staff due to it's poor performance. In 2003, both MAS & RAV purchased 6 GMCs (3 for each Service) and retrofitted the rear modules off the aging GMCs. Below are photos of the MAS's vehicle 142. These have now been phased out with the newer and far inmporved Mercedes 315 Sprinter. |
