Mercedes 316 Sprinter
The
Mercedes 316 Sprinter
is now being superseded by the more powerful Mercedes 318 Sprinter frontline emergency response Ambulance in RAV.
The rear patient
compartment is designed in line with new OH&S guidelines, and with
impute from on road Ambulance Officers. Vehicles are fitted out by Mader International in Tasmania.
Cost of the current
316 is estimated at $140,000 each (fully equipped). |

Mercedes 315 Sprinter
The
Mercedes 315 Sprinter was introduced as the frontline emergency response Ambulance in RAV,
replacing the aging Mercedes 316. However due to it's underpowered 4
cylinder engine, it is now being replaced with the 6 Cylinder Mercedes 318
Sprinter.
Superior handling,
driver comfort and a range of improved features in the rear patient
compartment have led to the 315 being well accepted by staff

Holden
Commodore Sedan
The
Holden Sedans are
used by RAV primarily as transportation vehicle of managers and other staff
involved in duties other than patient care.
On some occasions they
can also be utilised in a first response capacity when stretcher vehicles
are not available, or to provide additional resources rapidly to a scene. |

Holden
Commodore Station Wagon
The Holden wagons are
used by RAV primarily as transportation vehicle for either staff
involved in duties other than patient care, and for non urgent patient
transports who do not require a stretcher.
Like the sedan, the
wagons
can also be utilised in a first response capacity when stretcher vehicles
are not available, or to provide additional resources rapidly to a scene. |

Ford PTO Transit Van
The Ford Transit vans are used by the Patient
Transport Officers (PTO) for the transportation of non emergency patient
transfers.
Capable of carrying 2
stretcher patients, they are extremely efficient in the non
emergency role. |

Toyota Troopcarrier 4WD
4WD ambulances are used throughout RAV in
areas where it has been deemed inaccessible by the 2WD
Ambulance. These areas include the snow fields and dense forested
areas of the state.
A small number of
4WD

Mercedes 416 CVAP
Ambulance Victoria's new Mercedes
CVAP (Complex Patient Ambulance Vehicle) began being introduced into Service
in small numbers in 2007 for the care and transport of morbid obese and critical
care patients who require a range of medical equipment that will not fit
into the standard Ambulance vehicle
