In 1994, Country Regions in Victoria began introducing the Holden VR Commodore Ute into service with a rear fibreglass patient module built by Jakab in N.S.W.. Known as the LAV (Light Ambulance Vehicle), the Commodore was introduced along with the Ford Longreach as a low cost transport vehicle for long distance transfers. Only one remains in Service today in the Alexandra Region. |
