In 1995, Victoria began introducing the Ford Longreach Ute into service with a rear fibreglass patient module built by Superior in Queensland. Known as the LAV (Light Ambulance Vehicle), the Ford was introduced along with the Commodore ute as a low cost transport vehicle for long distance transfers. |
